Mr. Giorgos Dimitrakopoulos a member of the European Parliament talks to Irene Vlachou about the international economic crisis and Government measures on the major problems facing citizens.
Mr. Giorgos Dimitrakopoulos was born in Greece in 1952. His first degree was in Public Law and Political Science. He furthered his studies in the USA where he attained a Master of Arts in International Affairs and continued his postgraduate studies in International Law and Diplomatic History.He is a Member of the European Parliament for the Nea Dimokratia party and Vice-President of the Temporary Committee established to ascertain the alleged use of European countries for the transport and illegal detention of prisoners by the CIA. He is also a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and on the subcommittees for Human Rights and for Security and Defence. Apart from being a M.E.P. he has also worked as a Political analyst and Counsellor of the Prime- Minister for Political Affairs.
He has, since 1979, published numerous articles and commentaries on foreign and international relations in local Greek and international newspapers and magazines.
